Anchorage Rotaract

The PAW-ty is underway! Make sure to stop by the Koot’s parking lot to grab a hotdog, a doggie bag, and pick up a $5 cooling vest to support APD’s K-9 unit!

On August 30th, we’re hosting a PAW-ty to support Dollars for Dogs Inc. and the Anchorage Police Department's K-9 unit.

From 11-2pm, in the Koot's parking lot, families and furry friends are invited to join in on a festive afternoon filled with fun, food, and four-legged heroes.

🌭 Free hotdogs! (donated by Sysco)

🦴 Free doggie bags! (donated by Alaska Mill and Feed Inc.)

🐶 $5 Canada Pooch cooling vests (special thanks to PetZoo) to help raise funds for the K-9 program.

This feel-good event is open to the public and sure to be a “frank-ly” good time supporting Anchorage’s hardest working hounds.

Did you know that there are dozens of Free Little Libraries across Anchorage?

This week, while Solstice Artworks was having their floors replaced, Anchorage Rotaract took to the streets for a rolling meeting.

We delivered hundreds of donated kids books to FLLs throughout the community on behalf of other Anchorage Rotary groups.

Ages late… but let’s talk about how INCREDIBLE the first official Anchorage Rotaract community service project was.

The welcomed us beautifully, with arms outstretched, shovels lined up and ready to go, and flowers ready to plant.

And the universe must have known that we were on a mission for good, because she blessed us with immaculate weather - warmth, sunshine, and a cool breeze - keeping spirits bright and hopeful all day long.

We helped to planted flowers, built a new pathway through the front garden, relocated plants to enhance the entrance’s visual aesthetic, weeded out invasive dandelions, and supported native plant growth throughout the property.

And most importantly… we had a truly fun time doing it!

New connections were made. Friendships were ignited. And the laughter filled the air.

Anchorage Rotaract is beyond grateful for the opportunity to invest back into a place that holds such significant value for our community, offering fresh air, a return to nature, and the chance to explore for so many.

Our Rotary community showed up in full force to support, encourage, and serve right alongside our newly minted Rotaract club members, with volunteers from nearly all local clubs, project direction and supervision by Rotary South’s Timothy Kane, and a far above-and-beyond, scrumptious lunch served up by Rotary International’s Becky Erickson.

A wholehearted, tremendous THANK YOU to every single person who helped to make this project possible.

Later this month, we’re on to our next adventure!
