It's slow to heat up and difficult to manage temperatures. Electric tankless water heaters can't compare to gas tankless when it comes to the amount of water it can heat. Natural gas is superior in these aspects.

Some people have considered using a tub liner instead of replacing the bathtub. While it is much cheaper - in the long run it's much more expensive. Problems like water getting in between the tub and the liner creates stagnant water you can't remove. Tub drain and overflow are sub-standard becoming catch locations for hair stoppages. Best to save your money until you can afford a good replacement with a heavy duty cast iron tub and then build your tile walls above. You will be much happier in the end.
