“Mm, that’s weird… the count’s off.”

Recently got the chance to go to Oogie Boogie Bash as everyone’s favorite accountant from The Great Before, Terry.

It was fun figuring out how to bring this antagonist to life for our group’s theme: Villain Slumber Party.

I added a sleeping cap to fit the theme. I was going to also add a teddy bear in her arm, but EL wire doesn’t easily lend itself to such small details.

I made one of her hands moveable so that I could have Terry dance around the park—a detail that got lots of grins and smiles from guests and cast members alike.

Though many didn’t see it, the back of my hood had abacuses on it, a nod to the scenes where Terry is trying to make sure all souls are accounted for.

In addition to connecting with fellow guests who wished the movie got more recognition, and getting called “Impressive” by Yokai, I had an encounter over dinner where two cast members were trying to be the one to take my order.

Though I, inevitably, had to go into one lane, they both had agreed that I had deserved something. I wasn’t sure what they were talking about at first, but they produced a “Best Dressed” button.

It was a touching gesture—the perfect way to underscore an amazing weekend filled with fun, laughter, and just the right amount of spooks.
