I got my hands on a 2008 Fender Classic Series ‘72 Telecaster Deluxe with some bad pickups and that weird choice of 250K Fender made. Now it is loaded with Fender CuNiFe Wide Range Humbucker reissues, raw nickel covers, brushed titanium saddles, a 1-Meg harness, and this guard mod I created with paisley upholstery vinyl atop my old, now heavily sanded blackguard. That was tricky, to say the least. It took a lot of patience and time to wrap it correctly. I’m actually quite pleased with the end result. Now to see if it holds up in the long run. Is it bright sounding? Absolutely! But I have .015uf pots in there for some manageable tone roll off. I honestly love it.
