Venus gave us some absolutely beautiful colostrum today! Baby is drinking her fill for sure, the picture washes some of the color out but its a beautiful golden color and full of good fats.

We knew Venus was due soon but we didnt think it was quite this soon. Venus gave us a beautiful heifer calf late last night/very early this morning. She is still at a sensitive stage but she is strong and spunky, Venus is doing a great job looking after her! Venus will produce WAY more milk then little miss can drink so we will have fresh raw milk available VERY VERY soon! Our top priority is always the calf so if she drinks more then we have less and that is ok by us!

Well, well, well, what has been happening around the farm? Although we are working on reducing our Kune Kune herd we were offered a wonderful opportunity to increase our cattle side. We will still be getting bottle calves and raising them up, we were fortunate enough to get not 1, not 2, but 3! Dairy cows! Two are fully blooded A2A2 jerseys, and one is a half jersey, half mini herferd! Ms. Venus is due any day now with another full A2A2 jersey, the other two are actually her daughters! Pictures to be posted shortly, please keep us in your thoughts as Venus get close to calving! She is an experienced mom but we always want to be careful.
