Summer Reading Tip!
Summer Reading Tip for Students with Dyslexia #1
📚🎧 Audiobooks! 📚🎧
Audiobooks are a great way to give your student a break from visual decoding. Listening to an audiobook about a topic of their choice also them to sit back and learn to simply enjoy reading. Though they are not actively decoding, audiobooks still build important skills like reading comprehension.

🎄🎅 Day 8 of busting dyslexia myths! 🎄🎅
🎄🎅 Here we are at day 8 of our countdown to Christmas! 🎄🎅
Myth #8: Retaining a child will improve their reading.
False again! Retaining a child with a reading impairment will not address their core needs of a systematic, sequential, cumulative, repetitive, explicit, multisensory phonics program. Retaining a child will only give them another year of the same. This is based on the unfounded belief that reading impairments are caused by a temporary lag in development.
