CPE Summer Institute 2025 (July 17-20): *Economics for Emancipation and Liberation.*
A four-day in-person workshop at Hampshire College, Amherst, MA.
We kindly invite you all to participate in the Center for Popular Economics (CPE) Summer Institute 2025 “Economics for Emancipation and Liberation,” which will take place from July 17th to July 20th at Hampshire College in Amherst, MA.
The CPE Summer Institute is designed to address the movement’s economics knowledge gaps and counter the conservative myths at the heart of mainstream economics. This year’s Summer Institute will cover the basics of radical economics; systems of oppression including capitalism, racism and patriarchy; progressive reforms and post-capitalist experiments; the history of social movements, strategies for organizing, and building dual power.
Thanks to CPE’s grant funding, we are able to offer the Summer Institute on a sliding cost scale/pay-what-you-can model. This means that if someone interested can not afford the full ticket price, they can let us know what price works best for them. The minimum registration fee to secure a spot is $15, and the deadline to apply is May 31st using this application form.

The Center for Popular Economics is a collective of radical economists who have launched a new YouTube channel with the aim of popularizing Marxian political economy. Here is our latest video, where we film our reaction to one of PragerU's most popular videos, "Capitalism v. Socialism." In the video, we grab a beer, have some laughs, and go line-by-line through the video to discuss our response to the ideas being promoted in the video, such as the belief that capitalism = freedom and socialism = dictatorship.
