There’s a new hat to knit these days. This is my 1st Melt ICE hat made with blood red chenille yarn 🧶

When I was recovering from a very serious TBI that almost killed me in 2023, I started gently training my brain to concentrate again by arranging driftwood into shapes of animals.
First I would spend hours down on the beach collecting interestingly shaped pieces. It would take me so long because I had to walk very slowly. And I couldn’t carry much, so I had to be choosy with what I’d drag back with me.
This whole thing gave me the idea of art as therapy & an exercise for the brain. It helped me heal a lot faster.

This collar is inspired by La Selva Beach & the thousands of sand dollars Ive found there over a lifetime ❤️
I’ve snuck a little heart hand to commemorate Pop’s love of making ambidextrous hearts in the sand ❤️

I made my New Orleans host a set of elegant Mardi Gras beads of crystal & pearls
