This video is a culmination of strategies I've developed using video synthesis and feedback to break the still image apart. In the same way, Video Synthesis breaks with the tradition of video as a narrative medium and challenges the presumed linearity of time-based media. That has been the impetus behind my entire interest in the medium, which I now feel confidently familiar with. With this work, I want to call into question our assumptions of Stability and Permanence in still imagery and invoke the cyclical nature of birth and death through both visual and sonic media. The accompanying music is also composed by me using Subharmonicon and Swarmandal tuned in 11-limit just intonation and Soma's Cosmos drifting memory station.
