First, how are you feeling? Overwhelmed yet? I am! We just ended Halloween and I already feel peer pressured to put up my Christmas tree. - I won’t though -
I think holidays, for warriors like us- ARE EXTREMELY HARD! Maybe we want to see family…maybe we don’t. We crave to people around family and friends but the thought makes us nauseous. Can I get an AMEN!
Over the next 5 days, starting Monday, I will post an exercise we can do each day to help us prepare, NOT ONLY THE HOLIDAYS, but also in our everyday.
I hope you log on each day and join me on this journey to helping get through the holiday season and beyond. You can do this warriors. I BELIEVE IN YOU

Setbacks suck. They make you feel like you are the unluckiest person in the world! YOU AREN’T THE ONLY ONE!! We all go through these setbacks at one time or multiple times and it always feels like it’s the end...like we will be stuck in that situation and feeling forever. It won’t last forever - I promise! Have faith, talk to someone ( I am here if you need me), and believe in yourself...YOU ARE A WARRIOR!

I went and watched “Angel Has Fallen” yesterday ( it was great) and the president in the movie said this. It was so powerful to me and I felt it would move you too.
Having a mental illness, we ALL make mistakes that we wish we hadn’t done or we were honest with our loved ones when we should of been; but it doesn’t matter what we did. Yes, it defines us, but what defines us more is how we handle the situation after. How we overcome it. How we become stronger warriors and how that moment allows us to change our mistake and come our better for it.
On this self care Sunday, make a list of moments that define you and on the other side, how it made you better or what you learned front it. If you don’t have an answer, start to work on that. But, foremost, cheer for your accomplishments. We are WARRIORS...don’t forget that!

As you know, triggers can be anything. Someone bringing something up from the past, a picture, a show, or a movie...the list goes on.
“13 Reasons Why” just restarted and I know this show can be a major trigger to some. I have my own movies that are huge triggers for me and will put me in the pit of depression and cry for hours but I know this show has so many topics that it can raise all sorts of triggers. My suggestion, don’t watch it. If you do, don’t watch it alone and be open to talking about it with the person next to you so you can process your feelings. Processing our feelings is the only way we can truly heal.
Don’t be afraid to talk about what triggers you; it not only helps you process but helps the people who love you be better about not bringing up those triggers around you. Be an awesome WARRIOR
