Today, Texas DPS Trooper Sergio Romero was killed in the line of duty near Childress in a vehicle accident.

Trooper Romero leaves behind his wife, two young children, and a law enforcement family that is mourning an unimaginable loss.

We stand with his loved ones and our brothers and sisters at the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Rest easy, Trooper Romero. Your watch is over.

Today we celebrate the women who lead with love, strength, patience, and sacrifice every single day. Whether you’re a mother, grandmother, stepmom, foster mom, or someone who fills that role in another’s life, we want to say thank you for everything you do for your families and our community.

A special thank you to the mothers serving in law enforcement, dispatch, corrections, and first responder roles while balancing the most important job of all……being a mom. Your dedication does not go unnoticed.
