The Runnymede Alva in Alva, Oklahoma has a vibrant past! Built in 1889 in the English Colony of Runnymede, KS, it was moved to Alva just days after the 1893 Land Run. Though the original colony faded, the building lived on—changing hands and names before falling into disrepair. In 1998, a dedicated group of volunteers, with help from the Nescatunga Arts Council and Bill Johnson Correctional Facility, restored it to its former glory. Today, The Runnymede stands as a proud piece of Alva’s history and is used as a meeting place for parties, weddings, banquets, community events, and more!
