The aforementioned article shares just one small aspect of the continuing problem with the insurance market place of today. All companies have their own version of a "Florida Only" company. In this instance, even a company as large as Allstate, is not willing to inject cash into the "Florida" company because of the risks of doing business here. The risk is not just the strange laws that only Florida operates under, but also the risk of hurricanes and the lawsuits they generate.
When the insurance companies quit committing fraud with their appraisals and estimates. When the insurance companies pay the proper amount per the policy language they have created. When individuals and companies quit committing fraud and only attempt to collect on the agreed upon insured items. When the attorney's, contractors and roofers all quit being so greedy. Then, and only then, will we have a stable insurable system here in this State.
