It goes from life sucks → I’m pi**ed → that set wasn’t so bad → I actually feel good → wait… this is heavy → this is the heaviest I’ve done in a long time.
That switch isn’t easy, and it’s fragile. It takes practice. It’s like Neo jumping buildings in The Matrix… if there’s even a little doubt, you don’t make it. Once doubt creeps in, you don’t turn it around.
The real secret isn’t motivation. It’s just starting the workout. For one brief second, focus. Remember how good this usually feels. Remember how far you’ve come. Somewhere in there, there’s a turning point that shifts everything.
You won’t ask yourself if it happened you’ll feel it. The power comes back. Your eyes light up. And suddenly that Rocky moment hits, with Mick yelling “GET UP,” because Mick loves ya. You will suddenly remember how good it feels to be your best version again.
