Just a reminder this weekend is the Hometown Christmas Parade. And when you get the time I'll be glad to meet you at the Sierra la Rana front gate to help you find the perfect land for your forever home....might be a great Christmas present for the family 😀. .

Come be in the City of Alpine Hometown Christmas Parade or join in the holiday cheer on the parade route!
The parade will go from City Hall up Holland Ave, turn on 2nd street and end at the Alpine Visitor Center!!
We will have Christmas music by Willow Creek at the Visitor Center starting at 5pm and the evening will end with a wonderful concert from the Big Bend Community Band!

Did you know that some venomous snakes are not considered to be dangerous to humans? The Chihuahuan night snake pictured here is a great example. Chihuahuan night snakes are rear-fanged and mildly venomous, but their venom is not dangerous to humans because it is not adapted for causing physiological damage to mammals. Instead, Chihuahuan night snakes use their venom to subdue lizards, frogs, and small snakes.
At worst, if bitten you might experience mild symptoms such as pain, swelling, and bleeding. No serious complications are known to occur from the venom itself.

Chihuahuan night snakes are found throughout the southwestern United States and their brown, patterned colors help them blend in with their rocky, sandy surroundings. In Big Bend National Park, they inhabit rocky areas from the Rio Grande floodplain to the Chisos Mountains. Have you ever seen one of these cuties?
