From tablecloth to toddler dress! This project was fun and the pattern was straightforward. I used my ruffler foot for the first time and it was quite the hack. The foot clicks on the bar like a regular foot. On many machines, you have to remove the presser foot holder to install it.

I did mess up on the straps. I was supposed to leave the top layer of the lined bodice partially open. But you can usually fix mistakes and my sewing teacher, Kathy, always saves me...even if she makes me do it myself. I used a serger for the first time! Kathy's vintage Elna was fun to use and I ordered the exact refurbished model and will bring it to my next lesson for a threading tutorial. Once that baby is threaded, I will leave all the settings alone and hope those spools last a looong time.

I never had the time or patience to sew clothes for my two kids. But my Grandma era is a whole other ballgame! I love it so much. It is all I want to do after work (besides Busy Books). Took a few lessons to improve my skills and learn about buttonholes and such. I also discovered there is a presser foot for every challenge (I'm looking at you, ruffler!) This Saturday, I am attending Zipper 101. And Phoebe is coming to visit! I can't wait to give her a few little creations made with love. This pattern from is so cute!
