Very excited to share my newest design project with and

I pursued many avenues while designing WSC's identity. You can see my Illustrator screen as a reference. The final direction is versatile and meshes well with the current Downtown Alpena image.

The main type, Monstra Nuova, is a geometric typeface based on 1930s Art Deco posters and advertising. I felt it was a great symbol of Alpena’s resilience in history and how our downtown has continued to grow and thrive.

I love Alpena and creating in this beautiful city. Enjoy a few process photos because that’s the best part! 🩵🧡

MWD account revival, part 2. Colburn Outfitters is a family-owned lifestyle store in Alpena, MI. I completed the initial branding a few years back when their store moved downtown. (See previous post for references)

This past winter, the store moved into a larger location (still downtown) and we thought it would be a good idea to do some upkeep. I reworked the main logo that would be utilized for majority of signage and marketing use. There was also a few slight changes in the icon, for example, allowing the “o” / sun to interact with the tree icon.

With all of the changes, customer can still easily identify the Colburn brand. I may be a little biased, but it’s a great place to shop for high quality lifestyle brands.
