For my second piece for the “Medium • Material • Method” exhibition, Touchstone Gallery’s 50th Anniversary celebration. After layering dark red, sealant, and gold leaf, the surface is finally ready for its final subject: a hummingbird.

In my next Reel, I’ll be showing both finished works together so you can see how they compare. Stay tuned!

I’m painting several pieces for “Medium・Material・Method” at Touchstone Gallery as part of our 50th Anniversary celebration. I’m using acrylic and gold leaf. I want to show the comparison between painting on the gold leaf and applying the gold leaf after painting. In this Reel, I’m demonstrating applying gold leaf after painting. I will be demonstrating painting on the gold leaf in the next Reel. Stay tuned!

Work in progress. Just finished varnishing “Dawning Moment”. Let it dry several days, then attach D-rings and wire. This painting is going to an invitational group exhibition “From Trees to Forest”. Stay tuned for more information!

It was a great opening reception for my solo exhibition “ROOTS OF RESILIENCE” at The Joan Hisaoka Art Gallery at the Inova Schar Cancer Institute.

Flowers are symbols of resilience and renewal. This collection of floral paintings explores the rhythm and color of life and flowing patterns creating a sense of movement that feels both vibrant and meditative.

Thank you ! Exhibiting these works at the Inova Schar Cancer Institute is deeply meaningful. My hope is that these vibrant petals serve as a reminder that even in the most difficult soil, beauty can take root. These paintings are dedicated to my mother, and to every patient and family member. May the people who see these colorful paintings find a moment of peace and a reason to feel cheerful.
The exhibition runs through July 10, Friday.
