At Christmas the MARINE CORPS RESERVES heads up the Toys for Tots program. Their collection bins and personnel are located in a number of retail or other establishments. Many of these collection sights have a list of desired items ranging in price. Not all of the items needed/wanted are toys. They also accept hygiene products as example.

While working a site on Saturday on one occasion a gentlemen that I would guess was mid 30's made a donation. Then he wanted to shake my hand for what the organization was doing. He went on to say, as a child, he grew up "dirt poor". He remembered vividly that at Christmas, he always looked forward to the gift that would be brought to them at Christmas, as these were the only nonessential things that his family ever saw in those days.
