🌎♻️ It's Plastic Free July!
Did you know plastics are made from raw materials derived from Earth's geologic resources, like petroleum and natural gas? This month, challenge yourself to swap just one single-use plastic for a reusable alternative. Small changes can help reduce plastic waste that ends up in rivers, oceans, and other environments.
Every refill, reuse, and rethink is a step toward a healthier planet. What's one plastic-free swap you'll make this July?

♻️ June 24 is National Upcycling Day!
Before something hits the landfill, ask: what else could this be? 🤔
Upcycling is creativity meets sustainability, and it connects directly to one of the biggest challenges in earth science: how we consume and what we leave behind 🌍

Today is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere, giving you plenty of time to celebrate all of today’s holidays and events 👇
☀️ Summer Solstice - Recognizing the effect Earth’s tilt has on the seasons is not new! Farmers have planted by it for thousands of years, and many cultures have and continue to celebrate it, even erecting monuments to the solstice.
🌊 World Hydrography Day - The science of measuring and describing the physical features of oceans, seas, coastal areas, lakes, and rivers! Hydrography helps scientists track changes in coastlines, detect underwater hazards, and support efforts to preserve marine life.
👨 And Happy Father’s Day to all the dads who ever pointed at the sky, ocean, or ground and said, “Want to know something cool?” 🌍
