🦈 The Shark Week Tuna Drive is Still Making Waves! 🥫
The second week of July is almost over, and there is still plenty of time to dive in and help us fight hunger right here in our community. We are proud to keep pushing forward in our partnership with Move For Hunger to collect one of the absolute most critical items for families in need: canned tuna.
🌊 Small Cans, Massive Waves:
Did you know that according to food bank standards, just 3 cans of tuna can provide the necessary amount of lean protein to complete 4 meals? Every single can you drop off helps transform an empty shelf into a nourishing meal for a local family.
📊 Hunger by the Numbers:
The need in our communities remains urgent, and summer is the hardest season for local food banks:
🧒 1 in 5 children in the U.S. faces food insecurity—meaning roughly 14 million kids don't have consistent access to the nutrition they need to grow up strong.
🛑 When school is out, hunger goes up. Millions of students lose access to free or reduced-price school meals during July, forcing families to rely heavily on local food pantries to close the gap.
📍 100% of communities are affected. Hunger isn't far away; it impacts families in every single county across the country.
