Bed Bug Awareness Season!!

Bed bug infestations dramatically decreased in the late 20th century but are now greater than ever. The U.S. national pest management association reported a 71% increase of bed bug calls from 2000-2005. And in New York City bed bug infestation arose from 500 to 10,000 from 2005-2009. Although the numbers show an increase, bed bug infestations are not reported always (embarrassment or lack of education about the insect) and experts believe the increase of infestations might be more severe than the numbers really show.

Raven Termite and Pest Control got the chance to do a master technician workshops on cockroaches and ants. Led by the the head of the Virginia Tech entomology department professor Dini Miller, the staff of Virginia tech, and VPMA. Not only did we work on identification of pest species but also got to do experimentation with live cockroaches.
