🧠Did You Know?
Less than 40% of Americans have an emergency plan — even though the first 72 hours after a disaster are critical.
Having a plan in place — where to go, how to reach each other, and what to bring — can make all the difference.
➡️ Start here with these free resources:
✔️ DHS Plan Guide: https://www.ready.gov/plan
✔️ Red Cross Template: https://www.redcross.org/get-help/how-to-prepare-for-emergencies/make-a-plan.html
Smart preparation starts with one small step.

It’s HOT — Here’s How to Stay Safe This Week
Summer heat is more than uncomfortable — it can be dangerous. We’re seeing extreme temperatures in many areas this week, and we want to share some easy ways to stay safer:
🌳 Try to park in the shade — car interiors can reach over 130°F
🔌 Don’t charge your phone in a hot car — it can overheat the battery
đź’§ Freeze water bottles the night before to keep cool on the go
🧢 Wear light-colored, breathable clothes if working outside
🕶 Take breaks in shaded areas, and hydrate often
These small steps can help prevent heat-related illness. From individual safety to community-wide coordination, DCMC Partners is here to support emergency planning and resilience year-round.

Disaster Recovery in Progress! Lady of The Sea General Hospital announced this week that their temporary hospital facilities are now open! Following Hurricane Ida, Lady of The Sea Hospital sustained heavy damages across its complex including the destruction of its main hospital, and emergency department. DCMC Partners worked with the hospital, the State of Louisiana, and FEMA to secure over $18M of funding to erect a temporary hospital and emergency department to support the ongoing needs of surrounding communities throughout the area until the hospital and its supporting structures can be rebuilt.
DCMC Partners is proud to continue our partnership with LOSGH as is rebuilds a stronger, more resilient hospital by providing program and grant management services.
