The Common Good Thrift Store

We are sad to announce that the Common Good Thrift Store is closing. For 12 years, many have contributed to making this little thrift store a place of “Common Good” for our community. While this store is closing, our work of creating communities that are “good for all” continues on, just in new ways and spaces.

Our deepest gratitude to everyone! Soon we will be announcing liquidation sale days to reduce all the store merchandise, and also be together to reminisce and celebrate.

As a program of East Central Ministries (ECM), the Common Good Thrift has been an important financial driver for ECM’s community work in the International District. Pressing community needs have changed, so we respond and adapt. ECM (soon to be Streetvision Housing Strategies) is focusing on new strategies and solutions to the housing crisis. With starting a new community land trust, we are working to build new models of housing that people can afford. Support, interest and involvement is needed and welcomed.

The Common Good is closed today (6/20) and tomorrow (6/21) due to unforseen circumstances. We will share an update on Monday with more information.
