Did you know…. When I’m not playing with dead things and making art, I like to write? And sometimes I actually *share* that fact with folks? If you happen to be a poetry lover as well as a curiosity enthusiast, this post is for you! Rather excited to share this piece, which I made as a birthday gift for a friend ♥️ Maybe these aren’t the best photos, but eh. The need to hand it over precluded the urge towards pixilated perfectionism.

So! First time working around a harp shape, and my brain had some objections. Also my first time making “marble” out of polymer clay, which was definitely a learning experience. Also my first time making full fledged flowers from said clay. All in all, a lot of self-finagled firsts.

It was an absolute honor to present this bottle to the birthday girl, and to see her reaction. When you make a piece for someone and it absolutely clicks, it’s completely worth every FAFO kerfuffle and creative discomfort. I feel the urge to pop my collar and strut a little; I’m proud AF 😄
