Wu's victory follows Zhao Xintong's 2025 success, giving China back-to-back World Championship titles. Following Wu's victory, Ding Junhui and Zhao Xintong congratulated him on social media. Snooker was introduced to China in the 1930s. Wu is the second-youngest winner of the championship and the first born after 2000 to do so.
