In addition play dough:
-Helps develop fine motor
-Calming for children
-Encourages creativity
-Enhances hand-eye coordination
No play dough? No problem! It is really easy to make using common baking products.
Homemade Play Dough Recipe
2 cups flour
2 Tablespoons oil (any kind will do)
1/2 cup salt
2 Tablespoons cream of tartar
1 1/2 cups boiling water
Gel food coloring
Mix all ingredients together until it forms the dough. Punch out the middle and add food coloring. Use hands to distribute color throughout dough.
If desired, before adding food coloring, divide dough into smaller batches, so you can create multiple colors of dough.
Play is the work
of the child.
