For years, OBS Ford owners have chased a mysterious pop from the front end.

The suspects? Ball joints. Suspension bushings. Body mounts. Steering.

Pretty much everything except the actual culprit.

After hanging off fenders, driving in circles through parking lots, and more head scratching than we'd like to admit...we finally solved it.

Ford's factory cardboard fender shims.

Thirty years later they're usually crushed, rotted away, or missing completely. When they fail, the fender can shift just enough to create that familiar pop over driveways or uneven ground.

So we made a simple poly replacement. No gimmicks. Just a permanent fix for one of those little OBS mysteries that drove us crazy too.
