As we bid farewell to April this year, Let's reflect on our collective achievements, and renew our commitment to this vital cause. The journey doesn't end here— it gains momentum. Join us as we continue to strive for a safer tomorrow for every child. When we come together to support families and strengthen communities, we don’t just unlock possibilities, we create a future where every child’s safety, well-being, and potential are protected and limitless. Together, we can build a world where every child is safe and supported. A strong prevention ecosystem brings together families, communities, policymakers, and organizations at every level to create lasting change.

As we move into May, let’s be sure we don’t leave keeping our children safe and healthy until next April. Resources in NYS you can use all year, not just in April:

The United States spends approximately $428 billion annually on costs related to child abuse and neglect, including increased medical, juvenile, and adult justice costs. 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝘀 𝘀𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘂𝗽 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗱𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱.

We know these are challenging times; funding streams are shifting, and the nonprofit landscape is evolving rapidly. But let us be clear: we are not shrinking back. We've been here doing the work for 45 years—and with your continued partnership, we plan on being here for 45 more.

Child abuse is not inevitable. It is preventable. And prevention begins upstream, before a family is in crisis, before systems intervene, before trauma takes root.
