As you put away your holiday decorations, check to make sure you are using a heavy duty exterior extension cord for outside decorations, and make sure that there are no frays in any of the wires that could cause a short. Squirrels and mice are attracted to the heat from the electric cords and may have chewed them.

One of the top things you should do before putting your home on the market is to have a home inspection. It is much better to identify issues before hand than to have a buyer surprised by an inspection report later.

It is Fall, and at least this weekend, it is getting cooler. That means that the mice are coming. 90% of homes have mice. It is a good time to check for openings in your foundation, around windows and doors, and to fill any cracks where they could come in. Or you can call us, and we will check for openings and signs of mice with our infrared camera.

The good news / bad news is - it has been raining a lot this summer. Rain makes it easy for us to identify leaks and shorts with our infrared camera .

There is a lot of water around. Rain can knock off leaves which can clog gutters.
It is good to walk around your house and check your gutters.
While you are inspecting the gutters, also look at trees and shrubs and make sure they are not too close to the house. They can make it easy for varmints to get in.
