Just a few of my photos from the Sunshine Qualifier from Megacon. All levels of cosplay were amazing and it's great that this event has a fan vote to help those armchair judges.

Here are some photos of all the contestants at Megacon Orlando's Masters of Cosplay Grand Finals. Everyone looked wonderful and it reminds me that sometimes projects take time to cook. I don't think I've ever done a cosplay where I worked on it for more than three months 😔

There were so many cool techniques used that I wouldn't have dreamed of. All the hard research work to make things screen or historically accurate. This is like pinnacle craftsmanship and I loved all of them.

Please get some inspiration from these photos as I did when my jaw dropped as each contestant walked through.

I still can’t believe that I won at the 2025 Cabaret (aka Masquerade). It’s been a very long road to get there. For me I had like four original goals, I think turning into five at the end.  They were:

 

1 – Do better than last year.

2 – Find a character that I related with, that wasn’t so niche.

3 – Manage to win a big competition where I wasn’t singing. I love singing, but I needed to prove to myself that I didn’t just use a talent I’ve had forever.

4 – Make my whole cosplay. Everything except for my shoes, I made. I’m disappointed with the whole dropping out of the craftsmanship competition, but it was because they re-scheduled me during mandatory rehearsals and I tried to contact them back and didn’t get a response. So I chose the mandatory rehersals.

5 – Make everyone smile. I was really in the weeds with my dad passing, so I wanted to do something even happier and silly.

 

And I’m just so happy I did. The judges gave great feedback and I took every note and implemented it.



Now that the dust has settled and everyone has returned home, I wanted to just thank everyone that supported me through the Cosplay Cabaret. While I have some grievances with the back-end, and several I have personally voiced to them already, I would never have any ill-will to my fellow contestants that have worked hard to create magic. You were all wonderful.

Also, my next set of routines is Your Lie in April related and sad. So yeah.
