Northern Barrell is your local hometown bar and restaurant having been founded by Chuck and Michelle in 2021. After the loss of Smith’s Tavern over 5 years ago, nothing ever came to the Village of Voorheesville to replace this long time staple in our community. Chuck and Michelle decided it was time that someone made an investment both in and for our community and opened Northern Barrell to the public in June 2022. They took a warehouse building that housed a landscaping company in one of JJ Cramer’s buildings and turned it into a full service bar and restaurant. Northern Barrell is located at 10 North Main Street, Building 6 right at the start of the Hudson Mohawk bike path in the village. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor dining. In the nice weather, the warehouse doors can be opened to create an open concept allowing even indoor diners to be enjoying their meal as if they were outside. The restaurant is family friendly as well as pet friendly out on the patio. The kitchen is currently operated by chef Paul Dolan and his famous barbeque known as Charcoal Dole. While the main stay on the menu is BBQ, chef creates daily specials to bring a variety of other options to the customers. If you are looking for a place to bring the family, meet a up with an old friend or just hang with a beer and your cell phone, Northern Barrell is your place in the village.
