Over the years, we’ve restored a couple dozen RV and trailer roofs, but this one stuck with me.

About five years ago, we coated a guest trailer roof in Hannacroix that had been leaking badly. The roof was covered in failing aluminum coating, exposed fasteners, and years of repairs. When I opened it up, I found something unexpected: a roof installed over another roof. A full tear-off likely would have done more harm than good.

Instead, we restored it with a Gaco fluid-applied roofing system and backed it with our standard 10-year workmanship warranty.

I performed the included inspections for a couple of years and then didn’t hear much—which, in roofing, is usually a good sign.

Last week, the homeowner called. Not because there was a problem, but because they had sold that property, bought another one with a trailer, and wanted the exact same roof system installed again.

Her words were simple: “That trailer never leaked again.”

Those are the calls that make this work rewarding.

This week, we completed the new roof in beautiful New Scotland. No tear-off, no unnecessary waste, and a roof that should provide many years of protection. While we were there, our friends at DPS Soft Wash cleaned up the garage roof and siding as well.

We’re incredibly grateful for the trust our clients place in us. The roofs are important, but the relationships we’ve built over the years mean even more.

Thank you to everyone who has allowed us to help protect your homes, businesses, trailers, RVs, and everything in between. We appreciate every one of you.

Why can’t they visit (while) we’re doing the roof inspection!? 🦝 😀 😍

This is the time of year when commercial roofs start doing… questionable things.

Snow melts during the day. Refreezes at night. Seams move. Flashings shift. Tiny openings form — and nobody notices until a ceiling tile turns into a sponge.

Flat roofs don’t usually fail all at once. They fail slowly, quietly, and at the worst possible time.

The good news: most aging commercial roofs in the Capital District can be restored with a silicone coating system instead of being torn off and replaced.

If you manage or own a building in Albany, Troy, or Schenectady, late winter is the perfect time to check things out before spring leaks begin.
