What a blast! I had the honor of spending last week hosting a therapeutic fishing retreat for 8 combat veterans with Higher Ground. This was an awesome experience and it was truly an honor spending time with these guys and creating some incredible lifelong memories. I want to extend a huge thank you to my friends Brett Cannon CapN Ron Fishing and Dalton Smith for helping me run this trip and showing these guys some true Texas hospitality. I also want to thank Elm Creek R.V. & Campgrounds for donating a couple rooms to our guides and feeding them good before and after they got off the water. Today concludes another successful Higher Ground veterans fishing program! Myself and 3 of my guide buddy’s had the pleasure of taking 8 combat veterans bass fishing for 3 days. I am so privileged to play a small role in these retreats and beyond grateful to have the opportunity to witness the bonds and lifelong friendships that are created on these trips. It’s been an awesome week of fishing here on Lake Fork with some amazing clients! These fish have been making us work for it lately but persistence has been the name of the game. Unfortunately, just as I’ve started to gain some traction with Warrior 2 Bass here in Texas, I will have to undergo another spine surgery next week. I will be out of commission for 4-6 weeks but can’t wait to heal up and get back at it. Between all my friends, family and awesome clients, I cannot thank everyone enough who has supported me through this journey over the years. This Texas heat has made for a tough bite lately but persistence has prevailed. These past couple of days have been a lot of fun with the absolute best clients I could ask for.

It was a good week out on Lake Fork! We’re catching good numbers and some size too. I have a couple days still available in June so hit me up if you want to fish before I’m off the water for 4-6 weeks.

Unfortunately, after recently re-aggravating an old military injury, the doctor informed me that I will have to undergo a 5th spine surgery at the end of June 😣. With that said, I will be forced to take the month of July off to heal. I will be back at it again and hitting it hard starting back up in August. I’m already starting to book dates in August and September so don’t wait to book your trip!!
