Kid-Friendly Fishing = Lifelong Memories

Few things bring back childhood like catching sunfish in Texas waters. Bluegill and other sunfish are everywhere, making them the perfect target for a fun day on the lake with kids simple, relaxing, and rewarding.

All you need is light tackle, small hooks, and a little patience. A bobber and worm setup works great, or try wet flies if you want to introduce kids to fly fishing. Even better, sunfish have no bag or size limits, and kids under 17 don’t even need a fishing license in Texas.

Safety Reminder: Life Jackets Matter
Texas law requires children under 13 to wear a U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jacket when on vessels under 26 feet. Make sure it’s properly fitted before heading out on the water.
