ALAMEDA LIBRARIES are extendung their hours
Beginning Monday, September 12, the Alameda Free Library will be increasing the number of hours it is open to the public. The Main Library will now be open on Monday and Tuesday mornings and will be adding an extra hour on Sundays. The West End and Bay Farm Island branches will now be open late on both Monday and Tuesday evenings. Creating a more consistent schedule across all three locations will allow the library to increase patron access to in-person services, schedule a wider variety of storytimes, host more class visits, and offer more programs – not to mention make it easier for people to remember when the library is open!😄

Vaccine eligibility now open to everyone 12 and older
On May 12, the CDC and the Western States Scientific Safety Review agreed with the FDA that the Pfizer vaccine can be safely administered to children 12 and older to prevent severe illness and death from COVID-19.
In the City of Alameda, around 65 percent of our total population have received at least their first dose of the COVID vaccine. That means that people can still catch and spread COVID-19. Getting vaccinated keeps people healthy and helps them protect others.
