FROM KQED in 2020: "The black and white photo challenge started as a way for women to raise their voice. To stand in solidarity with the women we have lost. To show that one day, it could be their picture that is plastered across news outlets." The challenge was originally meant to call attention to the obscene trend in Turkey and other middle eastern countries for femicide. With women in the US being under constant attack by the misogynistic republic party and their faux christian disciples and literally being stripped of their rights, it seems appropriate for women to use black and white images in protest of those that would make women mere property of the patriarchy that would take over our nation.

If you are concerned as I am of the probability of the wrong person, the wrong party taking control of our government come November, then I invite you to help me create a series of black and white images of women just like you who are a stand for democracy, women's rights, equity and equality. My intention is not to take pretty, glamorous portraits of you, but to capture the raw emotion, the uncertainty, anger, fear, despair, determination you are feeling.

I will be posting these images on my Instagram and Face Book feeds, and maybe we'll even get to display them as a gallery in a local venue. Are you up to it? These will be very short 15 minute sessions. You come dressed as you wish to be presented, bring your feels, your outrage, and be prepared to project that in your images. You'll receive low res images for posting on your own social media, and I'll get your permission to post your images online.
