Important update about Mario’s case:

This evening as we get ready to support Mario’s family for his 3rd Angelversary DA Pamela Price announced that the three officers who killed him will be charged with felony involuntary manslaughter. Today’s announcement brings hope to Mario’s family for the first time since he was murdered. Hope for the justice system to hold these officers accountable for their actions and their misconduct. We have stood with Edith, Jerry, and Efraín since day one and we will continue to do so. This will be a difficult journey, and we ask our community to join us in supporting them throughout this coming legal process. Justice for Mario Gonzalez was a demand not just a slogan and we hope that his family will finally get the justice they have been waiting for. Please join us tomorrow, Friday April 19th for a celebration of Mario and to stand with his family during this important time.

Please join us on Wednesday to honor Mario and his family. It will be two years since 3 APD officers and an off duty parking attendant murdered him for being in a park. We’re asking our community members to come help hold space for those that loved and knew him. Please feel free to bring flowers or battery operated candles. This event is for the healing of Mario’s family and to keep his memory alive. But we would like to see our community come support this family as you all have done in the past. If you would like to help in any way, with set up, clean up, or the continued maintaining of the altar please reach out to us here or email us, link in bio.
