I’m often asked, “Reka, what’s your proudest Indonesian dish?” It’s always been hard for me to answer because, truthfully, I’m proud of all of them.

But when / recently included my Rendang Plate on their list of favorite dishes of 2024, I was overwhelmed with emotion. To see this dish recognized among so many other incredible creations left me speechless.

I’m not a chef, nor have I attended culinary school—I’m just someone who loves to cook, share my passion, and introduce the dishes I grew up eating at home. For one of those dishes to be celebrated like this means the world to me.

From the bottom of my heart, terima kasih and thank you to and the team for this incredible honor.

Today, I can finally answer the question: my Rendang Plate is my proudest dish to date!
