Ghoul Brothers own Hugz the Clown and Ivy Drip, along with 20 of our Ghouls 👻, visited Bloodview Haunted House …..

Bloodview Haunted House, located in Broadview Heights, has been scaring customers for over 40 years. They donate proceeds to both local and national charities, and every one of their scare actors are volunteers. You never know who you may run into: a maniac in the woods or a pleasant, yet very deranged, young man in a wedding dress who asked me if I could be his next beloved. Each actor is encouraged to create their character and add their own dialogue. It's not one of those "jump out with a booth pedal and then go back into the dark" type of haunts. As you Ghoul Brother fans and freaks have experienced with us, you know how that acting is. Bloodview is produced by the improv acting group "The Legion of Terror." Fun fact, former members of that group helped Ghoul Brothers establish our acting style in the early years.
The night we visited, we pulled into the parking lot to see more cars than expected for a September night. Once in line I contemplated getting fast passes since it seemed a little long and there were 20 of us Ghouls to add to the queue, however; I was soon relieved to see the line moving at a nice speed.
As we approached the ticket taker my 10 year old daughter was nervous since this was the first haunt that she has walked through that Dad hasn't been a part of. I really enjoyed the fact that Bloodview utilized both indoor and outdoor spaces to create transformative environments. The timing was fantastic and we never ran into another group during our experience. I will say that they seemed to be sparse on actors, leading to some unintentional dead zones, bad pun intended.
Upon our exit, I was delighted to be greeted by a second part. I’m glad to see that Bloodview has done some expansion work in the last 15 years since I visited last. The second half seemed to play on claustrophobia with its tight hallways and dark passageways. Despite the scarcity of actors in the second half as well; I felt that those in attendance were truly giving it their all. I even managed to get my name on the ‘Kill List’!
After we finished our walk through I got to speak to one of the guys in charge of running the haunt he confirmed that the actors were minimal that night and had to be spread out to accommodate. He said most nights they are packed with actors especially as October comes around. When touring the makeup and costume space we witnessed a makeup artist making creatures of customers that had just walked through and wanted the opportunity to volunteer. The haunt has beautiful scenery, some dedicated higher ups and is a great beginner haunt (my daughter jumped, laughed, screamed, and had a blast) especially if you want to do more than just get scared and want to be entertained.
Sink your teeth into a great cause, try on someone else’s skin and see Bloodview Haunted House for yourself.
