To foster dads,
To those with complicated relationships,
To those who’ve stepped in as father figures,
To those who’ve lost a father or a child

We're sending love this Father’s Day 💙

Father’s Day can stir up big emotions for kids in foster care. This day looks different for everyone -- and that’s okay. 💙

Here are 5 gentle ways to support them:

1️⃣ Talk ahead of time – Give kids space to share how they’re feeling before the day arrives. Planning together can reduce anxiety.
2️⃣ Acknowledge all feelings – There’s no “right” way to feel.
3️⃣ Be inclusive with biological kids – It’s wonderful for bio kids to celebrate, just make sure your child in care feels welcomed, not left out.
4️⃣ Coordinate with other trusted adults – Check in with teachers, mentors, or caseworkers so you can be prepared.
5️⃣ Remember: There’s no one way to celebrate – Kids in care may want to participate, create a new tradition, or do nothing at all!
