Read To Me Day - United Way of Summit & Medina Read to me day is scheduled to take place on March 1 in Akron and March 12 in Medina. Volunteer today to visit schools throughout Summit & Medina counties to read stories to kids.

Join us at Mason Park Community Center’s Kids’ Night Out on March 1st from 5-8pm. This event is for kids ages 7-14 and costs $10 and includes an Easter egg hunt, pizza, snacks, games, movies, crafts and more!

Saturday Shoutout! Park VIP Brian McCaffery has been working on a special project to GIS all the road, parking lot, and boarding station signs in the park. Brian’s attention to detail has shone through in his work. He has helped GIS over 500 signs. The work includes entering measurements, materials, and making condition assessments. The data will be used to create a comprehensive database of park signage that can help identify gaps in wayfinding, create replacement schedules, and improve the visitor experience. Brian’s experience as a recreational user of Cuyahoga Valley has enhanced his work. He has hiked every trail in the park. “Brian’s can-do attitude and passion for the park is inspirational” says Special Projects Park Ranger Chris Wilkinson. “He is a joy to work with and a great partner.”
