Tomorrow is Crest Bakery's last day in business. We will miss you all. We appreciate your loyal business over the decades. Our doors will open at 6:00 am and will close once the last donut, Danish, or turtle is sold.

The Akron Beacon Journal failed to mention one of the previous owners of Crest Bakery in yesterday's article (they have since added a correction). Julius Batu bought the bakery, along with Wendel Lautenbach, in 1977 from the Pallotta family. Mr. Batu remained there until his retirement in the early 2000s.
