๐Please help us in welcoming a new RFW partner - Goodwill Industries of Akron!!!๐
Goodwill Industries of Akron has been changing lives and building stronger communities since 1927. As a nonprofit serving Summit, Portage, Medina, Ashland, and Richland counties, their mission goes beyond just job placement - they empower individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment through job training, career development, and supportive services tailored to each person's unique potential.
Through workforce development programs, industrial contracts, and their network of retail stores, Goodwill prepares people for meaningful employment and generates resources that are reinvested directly into local services. Their efforts help individuals build confidence, achieve independence, and contribute to a thriving regional economy.

ICYMI: Our Recovery Friendly Workplace Summit County initiative was featured in this amazing piece by Crain's Cleveland Business along with one of our Early Ambassadors - Summit Recovery Hub.
We are so grateful for the opportunity to share more about this program, and to China and her RCO for being strong advocates for and the recovery community!

๐ Congratulations to our newest Recovery Friendly Workplace partner.... Rubber City Reuse! ๐
Rubber City Reuse was founded in 2019 and is Northeast Ohioโs leading provider of composting services, organics recycling and sustainable programs for business, home and events. They play a pivotal role in diverting organic waste from landfills, converting it into nutrient-rich compost used for various local initiatives such as food cultivation, soil remediation, erosion prevention, and beautification of gardens. Rubber City donates roughly half of their drop off capacity to underserved communities in Greater Akron to ensure that sustainable causes are accessible for everyone and does so in partnership with local community development corporations.

Yesterday we hosted our Recovery Friendly Workplace Symposium where we honored our Early Ambassadors who were the first 15 Summit County businesses to become designated as Recovery Friendly Workplaces. It was truly incredible to get to see all our partners together in one room, along with some of this initiatives biggest supporters.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this event such a success! This includes Summit County Executive Ilene Shapiro & her team, our fantastic panelists (Tyler Meenach, Recovery Friendly Hamilton County, Denise Thomas, United Way of Summit & Medina, and China Krys Darrington, Summit Recovery Hub), our host Bounce Innovation Hub, and all the vendors who provided information & resources to our guests.
We have so many more pictures from yesterday and will be uploading them soon!! ๐
