Please share! Raising funds for the rescue to set roots in Wagener now that we're settled in! If a pizza delivery guy can have over $30,000 raised for him because he didn't get a tip, we can raise this small amount to save more dogs and prepare them for adoption! If you can't donate, please share. Every little bit helps!

The seed has been planted here, now it's time to set our roots and dig in for the long haul. We have big goals and aim to benefit the lives of many animals over the coming years....

Yesterday was bittersweet. Krystal, an Operation Phoenix Rising dog, found her furever family. What makes this sad though is her long time sidekick and bestie Hainey is still with us. It seems that any time we have an emergency foster need we quickly receive emails from individuals willing to step up and bring a rescue into their home, but in the mean time our long termers like Hainey , Patti, Oakley and others remain in kennels at the rescue. With that said, I am putting a call out for fosters for our long term rescues, those that have been with us for 6 months and up to 2 years. Don't they deserve to feel the warmth of a blanket, a spontaneous snuggle, or an accidently dropped scrap of food being devoured in a seconds notice? Please share Hainey, and others like him. He deserves it, they all do.

Please share far and wide!
Hainey, like Krystal, has been in rescue for over 700 days. He is another of the remaining handful of dogs from the October 2012 Phoenix 67 rescue operation. He is playful and smart and loves everyone he meets - dog or human. Hainey loves to do laps around the play yard. He would be best suited for an active family or a family with a large yard. He would be good as a single dog or with one or two other dogs. Hainey is a one of a kind sweet heart!
Hainey has no issues with other dogs and he has not shown aggression towards cats, only curiosity. He is crate trained and house trained. Hainey is also neutered, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped.
Pending an approved adoption application we have reduced Hainey's adoption fee to $30. If you would like to add this handsome boy to your family please email us at [email protected].

Mom & pups are safe! Amelia has been reclaimed! Sally did NOT get out. There are 6 left to save. PLEASE HELP.
Aiken County SC animal shelter changed its long standing policy on June 11, 2014 to allow SOME light HW positive dogs on the adoption floor. Maggie, who we were promoting last week, was the first HW positive dog on the adoption floor. Sadly, there are many others who did not 'make the cut' (were not low positive)... these dogs are all HW pos and cannot be adopted by the public. Their ONLY WAY OUT is if a 501c3 rescue saves them. This is an open admission county shelter and it is overcrowded. These dogs MUST get OUT immediately!!! This shelter does not have a 'specific kill date', it is simply a matter of space. They aren't allowed on the adoption floor and if no rescue steps up to save them ..... the shelter walls are the last sight they will see. DONATE to their fundraisers, share their stories, help us find a rescue.

" Excuse the graphic pictures but I want to spread the word!!!!!
I got a phone call tonight from my neighbor crying about something she found at Jefferson Elem parking lot while riding her golf cart. Some SOB piece of crap wrapped a dog in trash bags and then put chains around it and it has died. We called the county and animal control contacted us and after he laughed at my sister he said they would be out MONDAY to pick it up!!!! REALLY. This is a crime this is animal cruelty and no one is concerned called the county back had a officer contact me and he couldn't get anything done either and he was as frustrated as me... So now we will be in contact with the Sheriff and I will be contacting others to get the word out about this."
