A special thank you to Boring Pond Farm for supplying fresh, locally grown blueberries for our students! 🫐💙

We are especially grateful because two of our Candy Cane’s Learning Center students are part of the Boring Pond Farm family, making this experience even more meaningful for our children.

This week, our students had so much fun making their very own blueberry milkshakes! Not only did they enjoy a delicious treat, but they also learned valuable lessons along the way.

Through activities like this, our students learn the importance of:
🫐 Supporting local farms and small businesses
🍓 Choosing fresh, healthy fruits
👩🏽‍🍳 Participating in hands-on learning experiences
🌱 Understanding where our food comes from and appreciating the people who grow it

This week our students celebrated Juneteenth through age-appropriate activities that introduced them to the importance of freedom, unity, culture, and community.
At Candy Cane’s Learning Center, we believe it’s is never too early to teach children to appreciate diversity, respect one another, and celebrate the rich history that has helped shape our nation. Through stories, crafts, music, and meaningful conversations, our students had the opportunity to learn while having fun.
As part of our celebration, we also learned about the colors often associated with Juneteenth:�❤️ Red represents the resilience, strength, and sacrifice of those who fought for freedom.�🖤 Black honors the people, culture, and rich heritage of the African American community.�💚 Green symbolizes hope, growth, prosperity, and the promise of a brighter future.
