A New Chapter at Addison Pilot Shop

If you've stopped by the shop lately, you've probably noticed a few changes. We thought it was a good time to share a little of what's been happening behind the scenes.

In September 2025, Brenda and Stephen Umfleet purchased Addison Pilot Shop from Edwina Shults, keeping this little pilot shop in the family. After nearly 20 years behind the counter helping pilots, Brenda is still right where she's always been, welcoming customers, answering questions, and helping folks find exactly what they need.

While the ownership has changed, the heart of Addison Pilot Shop hasn't.

Over the past several months, we've been working behind the scenes to build a stronger foundation for the future. You'll begin seeing improvements throughout the shop, including a new checkout system, gift cards, a customer rewards program, invoices, and other upgrades that will help us better serve the aviation community.

If you've happened to see two little girls playing "pilot" or "shopkeeper" around the store, those are my daughters. They're growing up surrounded by airplanes, pilots, and the kind of people who are always willing to lend a hand. We couldn't ask for a better place to teach them the value of hard work, kindness, and serving others.

Most importantly, we want to thank each and every one of you.

Whether you've been shopping here for decades or you just discovered us, thank you for choosing a local pilot shop. Every time you walk through our doors instead of placing another online order, you're helping preserve one of the few remaining places where pilots can still ask questions, swap stories, get honest advice, and be greeted by name.

That means more to us than you know.

We're honored to carry this legacy forward, and we're excited about what's ahead. We look forward to serving the aviation community for many years to come.

Ok so since my fearless daughter doesnt watch the news!!!! She is there to help you today. Miranda is her name and most of you already know my granddaughter Alicia. Please be patient she is learning on the fly how the front end of the store works.

Ok so I guess we are closed for Juneteenth!? I dunno. This is quite possibly the craziest weather alert I have ever received. If you are already in the Addison, Farmers Brach, Carrollton area please be careful! I’ve counted 12 high water rescues already before I gave up counting. Be safe! Don’t trust the puddles!
