Today we want to recognize Sgt Moore for a recent act of service that reflects the very best of our department.

Sgt. Moore came across an elderly gentleman who had run out of gas along Mars Hill Road. The man stated he only had a couple of dollars with him, so Sgt. Moore pushed his vehicle to a nearby gas station and paid for the fuel himself to make sure he could get safely back on the road.

While we are spotlighting Sgt. Moore for this particular incident, acts of kindness like this happen across Cobb County every single day. Our officers rarely talk about them, because they do these things out of compassion, not for recognition.

This moment is just one example of the values we expect from every member of the Cobb County Police Department; to serve our citizens the way we would want our own family members to be served.

We are proud of Sgt. Moore and grateful for the quiet, everyday service our officers provide to this community.
