The Promenade Cat Colony

Welp, I know it's been a while since I posted - I'm terrible with social media management - but I've continued being busy through my summer!
In addition to managing my own cat colony, I've started working with an Atlanta-area rescue group called Pounce De Leon (I love these rescue names).
Since mid-June I've been lucky enough to foster some kittens. Meet Riker (orange tabby) and Troi (tortoisehell), two of the sweetest kittens you'll ever meet!
I'm excited to tell y'all that they are going to their first-ever adoption event tomorrow (Sat, 8/24)! It will be at the Howell Mill, Atlanta Petco from 11am-4pm. Even better, an anonymous donor has chipped in to take a lot of money off of the adoptions, so they'll be discounted!
If anyone is looking for kittens, please feel free to check them out tomorrow. They are incredibly friendly, snuggly, and love to play! They were born outside and had to battle a hard viral illness at a young age, but they've stayed sweet and loving through all of that. I'm so proud of them and I really hope they find their furever homes tomorrow!

Leia's asleep and hopefully dreaming of her favorite things - cuddling with her human and playing with toys!
Leia is still growing at 7 months old and is gentle-natured and VERY curious. She's spayed, has had her rabies and FVRCP vaccines, and is available for adoption!

Our third success story is Kira! Kira, along with her siblings Dax and Molly, was born in 2020 in a woodpile on my neighbor's property and first met me when the three of them followed their mother, Keiko, onto my porch so she could eat from my food bowls.
Unlike her brother, Kira was not so trusting of me. She put up the most resistance to me (hence her being named after a resistance fighter), even going so far as to leap dramatically off my porch and run for my neighbor's yard when I came out one day to feed everybody.
Fortunately I got her to come around the way I get most cats to come around - providing plenty of tasty food, sitting calmly around her, and eventually petting her while she ate. She warmed up pretty quickly after that and even started inviting herself into my house when I would open the door to enter or leave.
Since she was already making herself at home, I decided to make it official and adopted her and Dax. She now loves snuggling up against my legs and making the world's best biscuits on my comforter.

Our second success story is Dax! Dax, along with his sisters Kira and Molly, was born in 2020 in a woodpile on my neighbor's property and first met me when the three of them followed their mother, Keiko, onto my porch so she could eat from one of my food bowls.
Dax was an interesting kitten - he was never afraid of me! The first time he ever saw me, sitting on my porch reading a book, he walked up, lay down right outside of arm's-reach, and went to sleep.
Now, three years later, he is the biggest cuddlebug, always purring up a storm around me and sleeping on my chest every night. Like his namesake, he's bold, kind, and always ready for an adventure.
He has already found his forever home - my home - and my world is so much brighter for having him in it.
