Sincerity Is Not Enough | Sermon 3 | Anchored in Truth

Can a person be sincere and still be wrong?

In our culture, sincerity is often treated as the highest virtue. Many believe that if someone is genuine in their beliefs, then those beliefs must be acceptable to God. But Scripture presents a very different picture.

In Sermon 3 of the Anchored in Truth series, we examine what the Bible teaches about the relationship between sincerity and truth. Looking at Romans 10:1–4 and other key passages, we discover that zeal without biblical truth can lead people further from God rather than closer to Him.

This message reminds us that God has never called us to simply be sincere—He has called us to know, believe, and obey the truth revealed in His Word.

In this message you'll discover:
• Why sincerity alone cannot save.
• The danger of religious zeal without biblical knowledge.
• What Paul teaches about Israel's misplaced righteousness.
• Why truth must always govern our beliefs.
• How Christ is the only foundation for true righteousness before God.

True Religion | James 1:26–27 | Living Faith – Lesson 8

What does genuine Christianity actually look like?

In Lesson 8 of our Living Faith study through the book of James, we examine one of the most practical and searching passages in the entire letter. James challenges believers to look beyond outward religious activity and examine the evidence of a transformed life.

True religion is not measured merely by attendance, tradition, or religious knowledge. It is revealed through a heart changed by the gospel and demonstrated through obedient living.

In this lesson, we will explore:

• The danger of self-deception in the Christian life
• Why our words reveal the condition of our hearts
• God's call to care for the vulnerable and needy
• The relationship between compassion and genuine faith
• What it means to remain unspotted from the world
• The difference between outward religion and inward transformation

James reminds us that authentic faith is visible. It affects how we speak, how we love others, and how we live in a world that is increasingly opposed to God.

Join us as we continue our verse-by-verse journey through the book of James and discover what genuine, active faith looks like in everyday life.
